Convert uppercase and lowercase
Choose the right capitalization style without retyping your text.
Five ways to change letter case
Paste your text into Case Converter, then choose a style. The result replaces the text in the editor, and the word and character counts update automatically. Use Undo if you want to return to the version before the last conversion.
UPPERCASE
Changes letters to capitals: “A useful tool” becomes “A USEFUL TOOL.” This can be useful for short labels, but long blocks of capitals can be difficult to read.
lowercase
Changes letters to lowercase: “A Useful Tool” becomes “a useful tool.” Numbers and punctuation stay in place. Review names and acronyms if you use this on a complete draft.
Title Case
Capitalizes the first letter of every word and makes the rest lowercase. For example, “a useful tool for writing” becomes “A Useful Tool For Writing.” This is a simple every-word transformation, not a particular editorial style such as AP or Chicago. Those styles have different rules for short words.
Sentence case
Makes the text lowercase, then capitalizes the beginning and letters following a full stop, question mark, or exclamation mark followed by whitespace. It also capitalizes the start of a new line.
HELLO WORLD. THIS IS A TEST. Hello world. This is a test.
The tool cannot recognize all proper names, the pronoun “I,” acronyms, or abbreviations. For example, it may turn “NASA” into “Nasa” at the beginning of a sentence. Always review the output.
iNVERT cASE
Swaps uppercase letters to lowercase and lowercase letters to uppercase. “Hello” becomes “hELLO.” This is mainly useful for correcting or inspecting unusual capitalization.
What stays the same?
These operations preserve ordinary punctuation, spaces, and numbers. Some Unicode letters expand or change length when their case changes, so the character count can change. The converter uses English locale rules and is intended primarily for English text.
Finish with a quick check
Read the result, restore any brand names or acronyms, and check that the selected style suits your destination. Then click Copy text. You can switch to Text Cleaner first if the draft also needs its spacing tidied.
